Corporate responsible business representatives from across the Twin Cities will be looking for “green” at our Radisson Blu Mall of America today during a half-day special event focused on sustainability. Participants are members of the local chapter of EarthShare, a national non-profit employee engagement and philanthropy organization that works to provide meaningful opportunities for businesses to connect, contribute, volunteer, and embed sustainability awareness into decision-making and actions at work and at home.
Brenda Schultz, Carlson Rezidor’s director of Responsible Business in the Americas, will speak about responsible business engagement at all levels of Carlson, from corporate employees to hotel employees and guests across its portfolio of brands. Marilyn Miller, director of Sales for Radisson Blu, will join Brenda to speak about Experience Meetings—recognized by the Green Meeting Industry Council (GMIC) as a leader in sustainable meetings—and Carlson Rezidor’s global commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. Scott Huston, the hotel’s director of Engineering will host a tour of the property, focusing the group’s attention on the various sustainability initiatives being implemented at the hotel, and Chef Paul Lynch will serve up appetizers, featuring locally sourced ingredients, and remarks describing the restaurant’s commitment to sustainability, including the products used to build the restaurant, operational practices, and the locally-sourced ingredients incorporated into the menu.
