Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Gelendzhik opens in popular Russian seaside destination

Carlson Rezidor has announced its fifth beach resort along the Black Sea in one of Russia’s most popular resort destinations. The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Gelendzhik will feature 174 rooms and will re-open under the Radisson Blu flag during the second quarter of 2014. An addition of 100 rooms is planned over the next three years. 

Russia is a key market for Carlson Rezidor. The group is the leading international hotel operator in Russia/CIS & Baltic’s, with 74 hotels and 18,640 rooms in operation and under development across the region. The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Gelendzhik will be the latest addition to Rezidor’s successful resort portfolio in the area now consisting of nine properties in operation and under development.

“We are delighted to strengthen our presence at the Black Sea, and to offer an increasingly attractive portfolio to our leisure and business guests,” commented Wolfgang M. Neumann, president and chief executive officer of Rezidor.

In addition to its 174 guest rooms, the resort will feature seven restaurants, a bar, a nightclub, extensive leisure facilities, three swimming pools, and conference and meeting facilities for up to 300 delegates. The hotel will undergo renovations during the next several months. Over the next three years, 100 guest rooms, an all-day dining facility, and a ballroom will be added.

Gelendzhik is located close to the main Black Sea port and is known as Russia’s southern economic center. The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa is ideally situated on the shores of the bay and in the very heart of this lively and bustling seaside destination.
