The Rezidor Hotel Group and the Italian fashion house Missoni have mutually agreed to terminate the worldwide Master Licence Agreement for the development and operation of the brand Hotel Missoni, effective December 31, 2013. The existing properties Hotel Missoni Edinburgh and Hotel Missoni Kuwait will cease to operate under the marks of Hotel Missoni by June 30, 2014.
“The Hotel Missoni adventure in partnership with Rezidor Group has been a positive and important experience for us. After years of collaboration, today our paths are splitting, with Missoni having developed new strategic visions in the field of interior design and hospitality," said Wolfgang M. Neumann, president and chief executive officer of Rezidor in a press release on Feb. 18. "This decision is in line with our long-term strategy and focus on our core brands Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson. It is equally aligned with the redefinition of Carlson Rezidor’s global brand portfolio. We thank Missoni for their trust in our group and the close cooperation over the past years.”
