Simon Barlow, president, Asia Pacific, was interviewed by Bloomberg TV Indonesia during his recent visit to Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. Simon spoke about the importance of the Indonesian market, with its rapidly growing domestic travel segment and the rising demand, in particular, for more international-standard, mid-market hotels. The interview focused on Carlson Rezidor’s partnership with The Panorama Group and joint plans to develop 20 Radisson® and Park Inn® by Radisson hotels in top-tier cities, including Jakarta and Bali, over the next seven years.   

In the nine months since signing the partnership, four new hotel management agreements have been signed: Radisson Bali Uluwatu, Radisson Batam Hotel & Convention Centre, Park Inn by Radisson Makassar and Park Inn by Radisson Lampung. In 2014, potential is high for several hotels to be added to the pipeline. Further signaling the anticipated potential of the region, PT Carlson Panorama Hospitality opened a new office in Jakarta in October 2013 to grow Carlson Rezidor’s presence in Indonesia.
