Frank Acito, front desk supervisor at the Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside, has been named the 2014 Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year by the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association (NYSH&TA). Frank will be formally recognized at the Association’s 2014 Stars of the Industry gala and awards banquet on March 3.
The Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year award recognizes non-management employees (e.g., concierges, housekeepers, etc.) who provide outstanding service to the property, to guests and to the community. This year marks the Association's 21st annual Stars of the Industry program.
“Every year, the state’s hospitality industry nominates its most outstanding employees. This year, after reviewing all of the nominations submitted, the judges agreed that Frank Acito was the best of the best,” said Jan Marie Chesterton, president of the NYSH&TA. “Each of this year’s winners is a STAR in every sense of the word. They are shining examples of what New York State hospitality is all about.”
“Frank is truly an asset to our hotel,” says Michael Marsch, general manager of the Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside. “His outgoing and genuine flair for hospitality provides all of our guests with a memorable first, and last, impression of our property. Frank truly cares about our guests and his fellow associates, and he can be counted on to go above and beyond in promoting the Yes I Can! philosophy. I am very proud of his efforts and am very appreciative to have him represent our property at the NYSH&TA Stars of the Industry Gala.” Michael added that when Frank was informed of his award, he was very humble, thanking the entire Radisson team for its support.
This is the second year in a row that a Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside associate has been awarded the NYSH&TA Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year Award for hotels with more than 151 rooms. In 2012, Angel Vasquez, supervisor, Housekeeping, received the award.
“It is an honor to work with such outstanding individuals, said Michael. “I am confident that both Angel and Frank will achieve much success in their respective careers.”
