Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group appoints Christopher Ivy as chief development officer, Americas

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Christopher Ivy as chief development officer in the Americas, effective today. He will report to Thorsten Kirschke, president, Americas.

 “Chris’ appointment will help Carlson Rezidor drive and deliver our development strategy, with a strong focus on significantly increasing the pipeline of owned/managed and franchised hotels through a targeted development strategy,” said Thorsten. “Through key relationships with owners, developers, management companies and financial institutions, he will also identify strategic investment opportunities.”

Chris joins Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group from Interstate Hotels and Resorts, where he was executive vice president, Acquisitions and Development. Prior to that, he served for seven years as senior vice president, Real Estate and Development for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, and as vice president, Lodging Development for Marriott International for eight years. He worked as director of Development for Westin in Seattle, Wash., from 1997-98, and as director of Acquisitions for American General Hospitality Corporation from 1990-1997.  

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Rawls School of Business at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
