There were twinkling eyes and twinkling lights in La Crosse, Wisc., this month as the Radisson La Crosse Hotel team volunteered at a local Rotary lights event, which raised funds and collected food for a local charity.

“One of our Rotary clubs here in La Crosse puts up 2.6 million twinkle lights in the riverside park every year for the month of December,” said Pete Boese, general manager of the Radisson La Crosse. “Our staff volunteered to run the event for one night.”

About 30 Radisson employees volunteered in cold, driving rain that switched to snow. The annual event benefits a local food shelf, and the team helped collect about eight crates of food and $200 in cash. Even though the night was frigid, the warm service hearts of the La Crosse team made the holidays brighter for the hungry in the community.
