FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar nominated as “Best Restaurant” in both of its respective Twin Cities′ neighborhoods

For those of us that have had the opportunity to dine at either of our FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bars in Minnesota, the culinary pleasure has been all ours! And we aren’t alone! Nominated by food and beverage peers and patrons within their respective neighborhoods, both of our restaurant locations—at the Radisson Blu Mall of America in Bloomington, and at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown Minneapolis—have been recognized as 2013 “Best Restaurant” finalists in the Twin Cities’ Charlie Awards.

Once nominated, each restaurant enters one food item they believed is representative of their business. Winners are determined by the combined results of a judging panel and an online public vote.

The Charlie Awards is an annual event that celebrates the exceptional contributions of the Twin Cities area restaurant, food and beverage industry. The centerpiece for the third annual Charlie Awards will be Sunday, Nov. 17, in downtown Minneapolis. After an entertainment-packed show and award’s ceremony, the celebration will continue with an after-party and a four-course, VIP dinner, hosted by last year’s honorees. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Open Arms of Minnesota, the state’s only nonprofit organization that cooks and delivers free meals specifically tailored to meet the nutrition needs of individuals living with life-threatening illnesses.

The awards are named after the legendary Minneapolis restaurant, Charlie’s Café Exceptionale, which was a mainstay in downtown Minneapolis until the 1980s. The Charlie Awards were created to recognize organizations, businesses and individuals in the Twin Cities’ metro-area food and restaurant industry that enhance a diverse, vibrant and creative lifestyle and economy.
