Radisson Blu wins two big Danish travel awards

Radisson Blu was a big winner at the annual Danish Travel Awards in Copenhagen.  Not only did the brand win the “Best Hotel Chain” designation, but the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel Aarhus was cited as the “Best Hotel Outside of Copenhagen.”

"This is first and foremost a great recognition of all our fantastic colleagues who continually give great and dedicated ‘Yes I Can’ service with great pride,” said Jan Petter Elilertsen, area vice president, Nordics, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “The Danish Travel Awards emphasize once again that Radisson Blu and our other hotel chains are at the very top when it comes to both quality and delivery.  We love what we do!”

The annual awards ceremony is based on votes from employees within the travel and tourism industry, as well as a selected group of Danish consumers. In Denmark, Radisson Blu operates eight hotels, of which only three are in Copenhagen, including the legendary Radisson Blu Royal Copenhagen, the world's first design hotel, built and designed by the prestigious architect Arne Jacobsen.

Peter Laursen, general manager at Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel Aarhus, was elated with the honor for his Aarhus hotel. "It's great to be honored again,” he said. “We have won the Danish Travel Award seven times before, but we are just as proud. We have in recent years invested approximately 35 million Danish kroner ($6.37 million) in the renovation of all our rooms and suites. We continue to improve with refurbishments of the lobby and conference facilities, which will be completed by summer 2014. We constantly strive to improve and be innovative in order to deliver the best guest experience. This award is a true confirmation that both our hotel and the entire staff’s daily efforts are recognized and appreciated by our customers."
