The Radisson Blu Hotel, Nantes in France is the winner of the “Hotel Property Award” of the industry conference Hotelforum 2013. Olivier Harnisch, chief operating officer at Rezidor, and Riccardo Dallolio, European Head of Transactions at AXA, owner of the hotel, received the prestigious award during a gala event at “Bayerischer Hof” in Munich Oct 9.
The Radisson Blu Hotel, Nantes is located in the city’s former Palace of Justice (built in 1851) and is a unique combination of an historic building and ultra-modern interior design. The first class hotel opened in November 2012.
“We feel honored and are proud to receive such an outstanding award in our first year of operations,” said Oliver. “The ‘Hotel Property Award’ means both a thank you and a motivation for the owners, architects and designers – and for the engaged hotel team under general manager Cyril Casabo.”
]The “Hotel Property Award,” now in its 11th year, is targeted to a hotel property distinguishing itself from the competition in terms of a harmonious concept of architecture, design and innovation. Special emphasis is placed on ecology and sustainability. In this context, it is not important whether the property is a luxury or budget hotel, whether it belongs to a chain or is run on a private basis. However, it is crucial that the above mentioned elements are combined in a way that creates a successful hotel concept.
The Radisson Blu Hotel, Nantes was created by architect Jacques Cholet (DTACC) and interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel. They added contemporary elements to the classic architecture – like red and purple furniture in the historic lobby, a shimmering white table in the chic bar, and 142 rooms in elegant brown tones and featuring modern artworks reminiscent of masterpieces in museums of Nantes.
