South American partner Atlantica earns Gallup “Best Place to Work” honors

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s South American hotel partner, Atlantica, has been recognized by Gallup for the fifth, consecutive year as a “Best Place to Work.” The award honors companies for their extraordinary ability to create an engaged workplace culture. Atlantica was the only Brazilian company named this year, and the only international hospitality recipient. The team will be honored at the Gallup Summit Spring 2013 in May, at the Gallup Riverfront Campus in Omaha, Nebraska.

“This award is a credit to all of our team members who consistently pursue excellence in the area of employee, guest and client engagement as a fundamental culture in our organization,” said Paul Sistare, president of Atlantica.

“The Gallup 'Best Place to Work' award means we are among the most engaged and productive companies in the world, and we take that very seriously,” added Fabiana Zichia, branding manager, Atlantica “We strongly believe that regardless of industry, company size or geographic location, improving the engagement level of a workplace improves numerous other business results, including safety, productivity and profit.”

Research shows there are more than two actively disengaged employees for every one engaged employee. “The organizations we are honoring this year work hard to shatter and reverse what is typical,” says Jim Harter, Ph.D., Gallup's chief scientist of workplace management and wellbeing. “They average nine engaged employees for every one disengaged employee.”

Organizations can apply each year for this award and must meet the following criteria to be invited to apply:

  • Organization size: The organization's employee engagement results must include at least 1,000 respondents, representing a census of the entire organization. Only entire organizations or companies qualify.
  • Minimum Response Rate:The employee participation in the Gallup engagement survey must be 80 percent or higher.
  • Minimum Results: A GrandMean score of 4.15 or higher, in at least half of the organization's work groups, is required.

Congratulations to everyone at Atlantica!
